14 Days of Summer, a Meditation: Day 12

The Road: The Journey

Summer is a time of road trips. The road, of course, is a metaphor for life. Where are you going? Where do you want to go? Are you going where others want you to go or where you have always dreamed of going?

Plan the ultimate road trip for you in your mind. If you can dream it, you can do it. Find the road and get on it. Enjoy the trip. And don’t forget to stop and take pictures when the mist rises perfectly through the trees and creates what looks like a cathedral.

Make sure to come back tomorrow!

Tomorrow, we’re starting our first road trip in several years. The first thing I’m going to pack is my camera, and I’ll plan to take at least one side road off the interstate.

Wishing you even more joy than you give to others.

Thank you Sue, have a safe and wonderful trip! I took this picture in Virginia a few years ago.

Because of scoliosis I’ve had to give up road trips and travel, but since I moved so much during my life, almost 70 different moves, and #50 was when I was only 16, I feel I’ve had my share. But the thing I love is knowing that in life the goal is not what it’s all about, it’s the journey along the way that matters. And even though I can’t travel anymore, I can still be on my journey, I can still take pictures, and I can still enjoy doing it my way, not the way others think I should, or tell me how I should. It doesn’t matter so much where you go, as long as you grow as you go. Thanks again, Maria, for helping us to remember what’s important in our journey through life.

A beautiful photo Maria. Mystical, magical, contemplative.

Puts me in mind of Robert Frost’s poem, The Road Not Taken.
