Do you believe it's possible to have had a mild case of the swine flu? So many people I know had it and I closer than farther away...I know for two days that I felt achy, sore throat, feverish and did I say achy? My gp said to come in the following day if my symptoms got worse. I carried on and survived. Also, some articles I've read said not everyone will have ALL symptoms, and some cases are mild. Thoughts?

You're a very good writer! I enjoyed the flu report. No one down here yet, but now I know what to look for.
I also love "The Piano", and appreciate that ending. Choose Life! I know the feeling.

Glad you and family are better. Welcome back. Now, as Andre the Giant said, "No more rhyming, I mean it..." LOL

Maria,
Thanks for referring me to this. My son survived day 1 - but it's hard to force a 2-year-old to eat and drink fluids. I'm worried about the 6-month old and now we are all coughing. This is scary indeed.
Thanks for your insight and mutual appreciation for The Princess Bride. It made me smile...

Good report Maria. A real public service. Your love of life (and movie!) really comes through.

There are so many great lines from The Princess Bride, it is "inconceivable" to choose just one. Thanks for sharing.

This is such a reassuring story -- there's so much hysterical information in the press about swine flu, I was glad (not glad you HAD the flu, of course, but glad you wrote about it) to find this piece, full of humor & life, on the Rodale website, where we know we're going to find trustworthy and truthful information. Thanks.
