Is There Lead in Your Juice?
A recent test by the Environmental Law Foundation found higher than acceptable levels of lead in both organic and “conventional” juices and baby foods. They filed a notice of violation with a list of which foods were fine, and which ones weren’t. Foods with violations included apple juice, grape juice, packaged pears and peaches (baby food included), and fruit cocktail.

This Friday and Saturday, May 7 and 8, the Rodale Institute will be having its first-ever spring planting festival, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. It’s the perfect time of year to stock up on everything you need to get your garden growing, figure out how to get a perfect organic lawn, or pick up some organic compost.

It’s time for a break from my relentless “manifesto-ing.” It’s time for breakfast! After all, it’s hard to keep thinking big, hard thoughts without good food in your belly.
