Treasure and Bond:
An Awesome Store

I have a hard time shopping for clothes. Between being a little too curvy to fit into a lot of popular brands, too picky to want to wear most trendy things, and always, always wanting to shop based on my values of buying organic and wanting to make the world a better place, I have a narrow list of places to buy that work for me. So when I walk into a dressing room with about 15 things and come out with 10 that I love and that fit me, I’m shocked and ready to dust off my credit card. That’s what happened when I visited Treasure and Bond, located on West Broadway in Manhattan.

What makes Treasure and Bond awesome isn’t just the fact that it carries all sorts of unique and often organic clothes designed very creatively, but that all the profits go to different charities. It’s a cool idea that makes people like me feel not so guilty about buying stuff. Honestly, I would still have bought everything I did even if the money didn’t go to charity. But I never would have walked into the store in the first place. And I also probably would never have gone up to the second floor where all the clothes are.

Through a quick Google search, I discovered that it’s actually a concept store owned by Nordstrom, which although a public company is family run and owned. I also found out that Treasure and Bond focuses on children’s charities. Does that change my view of it? No. I’m not a Nordstrom shopper usually, but good for Nordstrom for thinking of something new and highlighting new designers. And the retailer seems committed to keeping it going.

As I say to my kids all the time: Try it! You’ll like it! It’s really good!

The link is not working. I only see half the page after I’ve logged in.
