14 Days of Summer, a Meditation:
Day 10

River: Surrender

My favorite mental image from reading about Tantra is that the secret to happiness is floating as if you’re in a river. We are all travelling together in a river of time, and you can fight it or try to swim upstream or you can just surrender and float in the current, letting it take you wherever it goes.

Whenever you find yourself in a situation in which you seem to be struggling against a current or fighting your way upstream, what would happen if you just surrendered and let go and floated? The secret of the river is that we are all going “downstream” anyway, so you may as well just go with the flow!

Make sure to come back tomorrow!

This came on the right day for me! I have been fighting to get upstream and am getting so stressed out that I felt ill last night. Today I will float downstream and see where I wash up – it has to be better than where I was last night, with heart beating in my ears so loud I could almost hear it literally. Thanks seems like such an inadequate reply, but I’ll say it again. Thanks from the heart, Maria!

Maria, Once again, thank you for posting these little inspirations. They are being sent onward to friends near and far. Sweet! I’m looking forward to each and every one of them as the words seem to fit all of us. Calming….. Enjoy a wonderful day! Patty

Maria… p.s. Your book is in an Indiana library and is kept on the ‘new book’ shelves. I’ve read it, agree with you on topics, and have suggested that my people all over the world read it. Good job! Patty

Maria, I’m just reading this, but it is EXACTLY what I needed today. Thank you for this inspiration and also for your “Organic Manifesto”. I’ve unintentionally had my head buried in the sand – you pulled me out and I’m now fighting organically! Growing, buying, eating as much as possible. I know that the more organic food I buy, the more my voice is heard. Again, Thank you!

Aspects of my life have taken me in directions I wasn’t consciously aware that I was choosing, which troubled me for too many years. Thankfully I am able to embrace this lesson of surrender more fully with each passing year, and as such I feel a greater sense of peace and purpose with what is. For this I am most grateful.

I’m enjoying this series. Thank you, Maria.
