French Toast—an Organic Breakfast Pleasure
It’s time for a break from my relentless “manifesto-ing.” It’s time for breakfast! After all, it’s hard to keep thinking big, hard thoughts without good food in your belly. My 3-year-old always asks for French toast with “makeup syrup.” That’s maple syrup to the rest of us. As I was making it for us this morning, I realized just what an organic pleasure it truly is.

Sometimes a girl just needs some fries—definitely with a burger, and maybe with some fish. So, when I am cooking at home and in desperate need of fries, I make this recipe, which is exceedingly simple, easy, and delicious. There have never been leftovers. Ever.
Ingredients:
6 potatoes
¼ cup olive oil
Salt to taste

Comments (12)Pancakes from Scratch in a Pinch
The other weekend my daughter had a sleepover, and I needed to redeem myself with breakfast, since the dinner I’d served the night before was…well…absolutely horrible. It was leftover Chinese food. Unthinkable, right? So, the kids asked for pancakes, and I said yes before I realized I was out of my usual organic mix. And parents were coming to pick their kids up in about 25 minutes. Crap!

The Super Bowl is this weekend. (I don’t need to tell you that!) I’m not a big watcher of the game, but I do love my wings. Since my husband grew up near Buffalo, he introduced me to wings in all their variations early in our relationship.
